A specific moment in “how to read like a writer” that I found most useful was the analogy between reading an architecture. “It didn’t seem to matter to my supervisor that I had no training in security and no idea where we kept the fire extinguishers. I was pretty sure that if there was any trouble I’d be running down the back stairs, leaving the patrons to fend for themselves. I had no intention of dying in a bright red tuxedo.” this paragraph really stood out to me because as readers it makes us really graft an image on what’s going on. It makes us understand where he is coming from.
