For the Unit 3 project I have chosen the genre of PSA( Public Service Announcement) to use to convey the information I have gathered in my annotated bibliography. The paragraphs for this type of media are usually short, not being very long. This genre can have variety at times, but most are not long. Imagery can be used in this genre, but rarely is. This genre is usually written in a third person point of view, usually just somebody conveying information. This genre usually has only one person talking. The tone is more serious than most genres, purposefully doing so so that readers pay more attention to the words. This genre is usually organized as piece of data at the beginning to introduce the topic, examples of the topic and lastly ways to prevent the topic or be safe from said topic. My genre is usually found on social media or even as posters on bulletin boards at police stations and schools. organizations, schools, and the government usually make PSA’s . Also, other people working for NFP causes can make them. One quote I found effective in my mentor piece is ,”Be Conscious of Food Waste. Just 1/4 of food that is currently lost or wasted could feed over 800 million people”. I chose this quote because it really drives home the fact that the information it is conveying is important with the help of the capitalization of most of the first words in the first sentence.

Class Meetings & Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 2-3:40 PM, in Namm 519
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
