In this essay by Mike Bunn, he referred a lot of technique that could be use to read like a writer. People usually only read the informations out of any piece of writing, but they never went deeper and see how it was constructed. The moment that i found in the essay that inform me and makes me feels it works is when he said writing is a architect ”Allen Tate’s metaphor of reading as if you were an architect is a great way to think about RLW.” This is very important because just like how a building was built, you have to come with an outline and work little by little to fill in the informations that forms the building. It lets me realize every time that i read an writing piece, I was only thinking of what information i get from it and did not care about the construction. This essay by Mike Bunn had really helped me and makes me realize how much i’ve miss in my reading before.
