The four texts that we read so far fell under the category of Education Narratives. They all have few things in common but primarily they all allow us to learn through stories. For example in the text by Jiang, we got an understanding of what it was like during the cultural revolution, how arts, books were not permitted. We also learned how the author āJiangā learned from her grandma who was illiterate. She describes her grandma as her safe space, teacher & everything that mattered. I was able to relate to this because my grandma also meant everything to me. She was my safe space.

Course Description:Ā A course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques including use of the library. Demanding readings assigned for classroom discussion and as a basis for essay writing.
