We have read three different readings and they all fall under the category of “education narratives.” Each of these readings are very different in there own way and also arent really related to each other in some points but, the one main thing they do share in common is the educational background to each story. In all the readings by Jiang, Malcolm X, and Douglas they all share the biography aspect to them and how they go in depth about their life struggles. Everyone of these readings tell us what obstacles and challenges they have gone through and also tell us what they have learned from these struggles. In Jiang’s reading she tells events that she went through in her childhood that helped her seek her passion and reasoning behind her future career. Malcolm X shows us how everyone is still able to learn without having to depend on others around you even after making mistakes in your life. Douglas mainly talks about how his life and point of view as a slave was a rough lifestyle to try and have an education for himself. At the end of these readings its obvious to say that all of these readings have some educational backgrounds to them and a deep meaning as well. We‘ve realized how most of us can relate to them with our own experiences and struggles.
