The writing process of my essay was a bit challenging because I was unsure if my writing was getting straight to the point and was uncertain if it was flowing right. But I wrote two different drafts until I was satisfied with my writing, and I did a lot of revising about my punctuation and grammar. Also, I did a lot of editing and proofreading about the structure, and just for any lingering mistakes I have made. I would say that “Shitty First Drafts” impacted my writing because it helped me realize that not everything is perfect the first time or the second time. Furthermore, it also taught me that your first draft can be your thoughts, but eventually become your final paper. It made me more comfortable forming my writing piece, and I was able to write freely without judging my writing first because nothing is ever perfect the first time.

Class Meetings & Times: Mondays & Wednesdays, 4-5:40 PM, in Namm 521
Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12 – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
