As I read Mike Burn’s essay, I realized that he had recently finished college and wanted to start work somewhere even though that wasn’t his dream job. He is an English major. He did accept the offer anyway because he wanted to provide for himself financially, and chose to make that a choice right there. Mike Burn said “Have no intension of dying in a bright red tuxedo”. I believe his intension was to uplift the audience spirit by inserting this joke, which was very dramatic. I will definitely try that practice to add some drama to my writing.

Course Description: A course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques including use of the library. Demanding readings assigned for classroom discussion and as a basis for essay writing.
