I’ll contact all of you with a Zoom link to the class. I’ll try to set it up so the same link can be used Mondays and Wednesdays through the entire semester. If that doesn’t work, I’ll get it right within the first week or 2. But you’ll always have a functional link to Zoom. In spite of COVID, I anticipate this being an enjoyable and productive class.

ASSIGNMENTS: We’ll have 3 assignments plus 2 optional extra credit assignments. They’ll be to create ad campaigns for some pretty interesting products.

SUBMITTING WORK: As for submitting work, I’d like you to send me work before class as jpgs or pdfs to my email address: rjapels@gmail.com. I’ll go over all this in more detail in the first class.

GRADING: As for grading, the 3 mandatory assignments will be 30% of your grade each, the remaining 10% will be for class participation. And the 2 extra credit assignments will be worth half a grade each.

Last spring, my students actually (gasp) had fun finishing the class online, and were very productive. This online format lends itself to the subject of advertising. So while I’d prefer to be in a classroom with all of you, talking face to face, I think we’ll still have an excellent class experience, and hopefully you’ll get several pieces for your portfolio.
