Dawoud Bey used photography to find his voice by going deeper Into the photography of African Americans. Bey doing this by using the photos to stray people from how African Americans are used In media. One of the projects Bey had done was using photographs to give perspective on how It was for African Americans to go through the railroads. The impact here is that we’re able to see what It was like to escape through the night to get away from slavery. Carrie Mae Weems uses photography to find her voice by not just using people but also her environment. This can be seen with the kitchen table project, with the project really focuses on the environment of what an African American women has to live In. This is impactful because It dives into the perspective and feeling on what that type of living Is like. I think I would find my own voice with the curiosity that I have when looking at certain things. Or at least how I would view them In my perspective.
