(Late) week 11

The kit arrived and we were left speechless. the amount of work ahead of us seemed daunting.  Steph and I spent Sunday cataloging and labeling our parts so that we could verify we had everything. Aside from some tape and a few adhesives we were ready to proceed.

IMG_3106It was at this moment I wanted to hide in the box instead of build this thing.

That seems so long ago…. I wonder how different things would have gone if we had constructed the entire thing from scratch instead? DEFINITELY the way to go next time, don’t you think?

DEFINITELY!!!!! I think we would have had a simpler time just because the fear of ruining something we could not replace would not be there. This sub we have worked hinged on us not messing up the parts that came in the kit, so we were walking on eggshells the entire time.

I feel like the kit was almost indistinguishable from making it from scratch! It definitely wasn’t a “plug and play” type of project, and I agree if we had designed it from the ground up it could have been simpler, although if you calculate the time it would take to actually engineer a functioning blueprint, and gather piece by piece it might end up evening out the odds..
