Week 9-Lab-Servo Motors

Objective– set up servomotors to Arduino, and get it to perform tasks and control with software.

Materials:

Arduino Board

Servomotor

Jumper Cables

Arduino Servo Library

Procedure-

1.     The first thing we did was get our supplies.

2.     We connected the Arduino to the computer.

3.     We tested the communication between the Arduino and computer by giving it a basic blink code.

4.     When the blink code was functioning, we then manipulated the code and the test was positive.

5.     We then started to set up the Servo Motor to the Arduino.

6.     We loaded the code onto the Arduino.

7.     The motor started moving and we were successful.

8.     We then tested the code with rotations of 45 degrees, 10 degrees, and 1 degree.

9.     When we tested the 1-degree rotation, we heard the motor move, but did not see it cause it was moving fast.

10.   We then started changing the delay, to see if we can change the speed, and was successful. We changed the speed to 10ms and then 5ms.

Results– we were able to operate a servomotor by hooking it up to the Arduino and were able to successfully control with the Arduino software
