Objective
Take apart FM transmitter and reassemble device back to working order. While dissasmbling device we are taking notes on what chips the transmitter uses
Materials
1 FM transmitter
1 Phillips Head Screwdriver
1 Flathead Screwdriver
4. Mysterious flathead screwdriver
Procedure
- Removed battery cap
- Removed top cap with flathead screwdriver
- Analyzed transmitter within the unit while trying to figure out how to remove it. We then noticed the housing in the middle can be removed
- We had difficulty further disassembling the device but the professor gave us the okay to use force if necessary
- The middle housing over the top removed. This allowed us to slide the chip out which we were then able to analyze
- Part of the housing is glued on to the chip which made it very difficult to remove
- We had great difficulty removing that last piece of metal housing due to the glue but eventually managed to break the bond with a screwdriver
- The board cannot be removed because it is soldered on
- The main chip in on the board is the BH1417f
10. We are now going to reassemble the FM transmitter
Results
The device was reassembled to working order, though it does have a few scratches.
