Journal 3 : Using Microphones as Sensors
Since I’m interested in building a lighting fixture, I think that using microphones as sensors will be a great idea. First of all, I will like to start explaining that a microphone is one of the most basics transducers and its main purpose is to convert vibrations in the air to electrical current. As result, if I add a microphone to the LED fixture that I will work on, which is something common in lighting fixtures that are affordable for any person that wants to buy a light able to change colors for his house party for example, I will have another parameter that can be used on my LED.

I think that this will be really useful when programming the lighting fixture because you will be able to set the fixture to for example work on beat with a track that is being played at the moment or the sounds occurring at the place where the light is setup. Also, you can adjust the microphone to limit or boost the amount of vibrations that it will convert into electrical current so you can accomplish a better effect with the lighting instrument. To be honest, I think that by adding a microphone and setting different controllers to it,I will make this project more interesting.
