Journal Entry 6: NIVEA Sponsorship with Real Madrid

My most recent project assigned since July started was for Nivea and Real Madrid (Futbol team). I was assigned to create an exterior for a pop up promotion that will be used in Miami. The pop up advertisement will be a store that promotes Nivea’s shampoo to men. The way the pop up works is it exported off a trailer truck. I designed the exterior that will be seen when traveling on the road and when it is set up in Miami. The interior will be a barbershop.

This was interesting as this was my first time creating something like this. Also it was exciting to think something I made will be made in Miami. I am also not the biggest soccer fan but I due know some players and know enough to know that Real Madrid is one of the most famous teams in the world.

It was challenging because I had to think of numerous executions to treat the placement of the following 4 components; URL to the website, NIVEA Logo, Real Madrid Logo, and the possibility of a headline. The art director gave me some inspiration by showing me previous pop ups the company has done before. Then did a quick sketch of his idea, showing me the heirarchy between elements. Another challenging aspect of it was that it was due end of day.

Once I had the layouts sketched out it became easy to work on. I took time before starting the project studying the guidelines provided by NIVEA. The branding guidelines were extremely helpful and made certain design decisions for me.

As of right now July 8th, I am still awaiting feedback from the client. but this is what it looks like!
