For this project, we Created abstract line compositions by using three types of geometric lines that develop by circles (arcs), triangles (diagonals), and squares (horizontal and verticals. First, I created three sketch pages experimented with the three types of lines separately (Square, triangle, and circle, and I made a list using the words “power” and “fragility.” After that, we created 12 different thumbnail designs using the three simple lines from my ideation list. Unfortunately, we could only use one type of geometric line per drawing, which made this duty a little tricky. Then, we had a clear understanding and finished our design of lines and figures.
We showed our drawings in groups to get feedback and choose which ones to utilize for our final pieces. And it was good because we always need opinions from others to make a better chance, and I made several modifications to the original thumbnails.
Finally, we chose all four designs and made them in 4×4 dimensions. I was able to express my ideas on each design. For my two finals for Power, I chose “Light” and “Property,” and for Fragility, I decided “Breakable” and “Tethered.” I learned a lot in this project about how we can use lines as negative or positive shapes. And challenging at the same time having to create without producing specific objects or subjects. It is a matter of analyzing to know what that represents.
