Each week you will need to respond to a question posted. Your response should be a minimum of 150 words for both questions. You should also include at least one response to your fellow students. The responses are a requirement for participation part of your grade.
Question 01 –
When will you choose Adobe Illustrator ahead of the other Adobe Software? List three things you might create with Adobe illustrator.
A). I would choose Adobe Illustrator over other adobe programs when multiple visuals will be involved. Whenever I want to create something, freehand, I would use the pen and/or brush tool. Both of which can be found on Adobe Illustrator. I would also use Illustrator over other Adobe programs when creating a brochure or something similar. Although indesign is mainly used for more structured designs (i.e. books), I like that Illustrator is more fluid and freehand. You can organize as you please. I would also choose Illustrator over other Adobe programs when I want to create something that is scalable. In other words, an image that can be changed in size. This is in case I want to bring that image into another program to make different types of edits, or even bring it into a website!
B). Three things I might create with Adobe Illustrator are, logos, illustrations, and brochure/poster designs. Logos and icons are simple to create in Adobe Illustrator because they are usually in black and white, easy to resize, and use simple shapes and lines. Illustrations are fun to create because of all the tools available on Illustrator; pen tool, brush tool, and shape builder tool, just to name a few of my favorites. These tools along with some fun colors, make for great illustration making. Lastly for brochure and/or poster designs, the type tool makes it really easy to experiment with illustrations and writing. Illustrator makes it really easy to see how different colors, font, and placement can appeal to an audience.
While the other Adobe software focus on other subjects such as top-tier photo-editing and motion graphics, Adobe Illustrator varies from the rest of them. There are numerous reasons as to why someone might need to use Adobe Illustrator over other Adobe software and they include the following:
Adobe Illustrator will likely be preferred over other Adobe software when a designer is seeking to create vector art. Photoshop images comprise of raster graphics which are pixel-based, whereas, vector images/graphics consist of points, lines, shapes, and curves. They do not contain a set amount of pixels like Photoshop images. Therefore, they are able to be scaled to any size, whether big or small, while still maintaining their image quality and detail.

Times I will choose Adobe Illustrator over any other Adobe Software is when creating logos, illustrations, and custom type. Illustrator is vector-based made up of mathematical formulas, points, lines, shapes, and curves. They are great because they can be scaled up or down without losing quality. They are great for logos because it could be easy to draw a logo and make it tiny or bigger for a billboard. Illustrator is great for illustration because you are able to zoom in on tiny details and not have the problem of it becoming pixelated. It is also great to create custom types as it easily illustrates them and is great if you need the type big or small.

The best time to use Adobe Illustrator is, when you plan to use a lot of Illustrated assets and Vector art to projects. It’s the best application to use when creating graphics and images. Designers may use Adobe Illustrator when they are in the process of creating a company’s Brand Identity or Execute the Ideas for an Advertisement . It’s great for being able to control and create the types of shapes you want, alter the size of the shapes while still keeping the image quality at bay. You are able to use many tools when you use Illustrator such as the Pen tool, the Arc tool, Line segment tool, Shape tool and many more tools that can help a person expand their skills as an artist or designer. The examples of the things you can create in Adobe Illustrator are, Logos, Icons, Templates/Mockups, Business cards, Color Palettes and much more.

Hi Darcy,
You can make different types of logos and make them visually appealing with different types of shapes, typography, and color. Making the logo and making sure is communicating the message effectively.
Adobe illustrate is best used for making these types of visual assets, I would also like to add that you can use Adobe Illustrator for making Posters, Templates/Mockups or you can even make your own typography.
If I was to use Adobe illustrator ahead of the the other adobe software is to obviously illustrate and to make graphic design. A lot of artist and graphic designers use illustrator to make their art, it has a lot of tools that can help them fix and edit their pieces. It has the shape tool to easily help you make shapes any size and proportion. You can use the word box and make words or logos and turn them into outlines so you can change how the words look or mix/fuse other words or shapes with it. You can enlarge or shrink things and it won’t even get pixelly. In illustrator you can make shapes, logos, titles, edits and practically anything you want to illustrate.
It’s interesting how versatile and flexible Adobe Illustrator is. What makes it really stand out is its ability to maintain the quality of the graphics, despite how large or small they’re scaled to. I find that to be pretty fascinating!
