Question 01 –

When making a ring shape that creates an overlapping crescent what makes the technique look like an Escher drawing?

Escher drawings are a very interesting concept, giving the illusion of not fully understanding where it start and where it comes to end. It’s a very beautiful and interesting concept which I used to think would be hard to achieve. What makes it look like an Escher drawing is by it not having a “starting or end” point, which can be achieved using the gradients and the transparency option. Transparency gives the illusion of it being well transparent. How this technique works hand and hand with the gradient tool is by it starting form dark to lightest giving the illusion of roundness, and by flipping that same shape and having the gradient inverted, it gives the shape a sense of motion.

I believe the opposite ends of the gradients connecting is what makes the shape look like an M.C. Escher drawing. M.C. Escher would make mathematical relationships among shapes, figures, and space, which is similar to creating the ring shape with overlapping crescents besides the complexity. It creates the illusion of a 3d ring that’s similar to M.C. Escher’s surrealism.

Thank you for sharing, I didn’t know about surrealism before, totally agree on showing the illusion of 2d ring shapes

Hello guys, when making rings with overlapping crescents, I think gradients and multiplies featured in AI’s color make the technique look like an Escher painting. This makes the technique look like an M.C.Escher’s painting, probably from where you have to see things from the right or left, top or bottom. bottom. It depends on how your eyes tell you. It can be an illusion and that is a very difficult and special skill that M.C.Escher used to draw his drawings.

    Thank you for reading
