Layer/Masks/Composites

Today, we will discuss using layers and masks to create a composite.

Using layers with masking and adjustment layers, you can create your own vision of a “Greetings From” postcard.

Critique

Each week we will review homework assignments from the previous class. Students will participate in reviewing the retouched images in Photoshop. Pay attention to the details used with brushes to create the composites. Changes to the color mode should also be noticed.

Lab

Lab assignments are done during class time.

  • Find four images and use a layer mask in an 8.5 x 11 Landscape file to create a composite.

Discussion:

Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. This is a requirement for participation part of your grade.

Homework Due Next Class: 

All work should be submitted by 3:00 pm the day before class.

Each file should be saved according to the following naming convention. i.e., 1162_13_LastName.psd (Photoshop).

  • Follow the directions and requirements for your “Greetings From” Postcard on the Rubric provided.
