Each week you will need to respond to two questions posted. Your response should be a minimum of 150 words for both questions. You should also include at least one response to your fellow students. The responses are a requirement for participation part of your grade.
Question 01 –
If you want to make lines that go straight from one point to another what do you do?
Question 02 –
What tool in Illustrator can change a straight line anchor point to a bezier curve?
To draw straight lines, start by selecting the Pen Tool. You can either click on it from the toolbar or press âPâ on your keyboard. Then, click once on the canvas where you want your line to begin, creating the first anchor point. Next, move your mouse to the point where you want the line to end and click again. This will form a straight line between the two points. If you wish to continue drawing a straight path, simply move your mouse to another spot and click again. Each new click adds an anchor point and extends the straight line.
To convert a straight line into a Bezier curve, click and drag to start shaping the curveâs path. Then, at the next point, click and drag again to complete the curve. Thereâs also a specific tool for creating curved lines located next to the Pen Tool. You can further refine the curve by adjusting the handles on each point.
In order to draw straight lines Choose the Pen Tool, click on the toolbar or hit the “P” key on your keyboard to activate it, and then click once on the canvas to mark the beginning of the line. This will make the initial point. Then, click once more after dragging the mouse to the desired end of the line. This will make a straight line connecting the two locations; to draw more straight lines, simply move your cursor to a new spot and click. The straight line will stretch and a new anchor point will be added with each click.
The Direct Selection Tool (A) is the tool that can convert an anchor point in a straight line to a Bezier curve. Click the anchor point of the straight line you wish to convert into a Bezier curve after selecting the Direct Selection Tool from the toolbar or by using the letter “A” on your keyboard. At the chosen anchor point, handles will emerge. Drag any of the handles to form a BĂ©zier curve. The form and curve of the line are determined by the handles’ length and orientation. By manipulating the anchor points or sliding the handles, you may further refine the curve. You have the ability to create smooth, curved lines and shapes in your designs by using the Direct Selection tool to turn straight line anchor points into BĂ©zier curves.
Question 01

This will create the first point, then move your mouse to the location where you want the line to end and click again. This will create a straight line between the two points and if you want to continue drawing a straight path, move your mouse to a new location and click again. Each click will add a new anchor point and extend the straight line.
Question 02
The tool that can change a straight line anchor point to a Bezier curve is the Direct Selection Tool (A). Select the Direct Selection Tool, on the toolbar or press “A” on your keyboard to select it, then click the anchor point of the straight line you want to turn into a Bezier curve. Handles appear at the selected anchor point, then drag any of the handles that appear to create a BĂ©zier curve. The direction and length of the handles control the shape and curvature of the line. You can further fine-tune the curve by dragging the handles or adjusting the anchor points. The Direct Selection tool lets you convert straight line anchor points into BĂ©zier curves, giving you the flexibility to create smooth, curved lines and shapes in your designs.
1. To make your lines go straight from one point to another press the pen tool and place your first point, after the point is placed we can then hold the shift key, then drag the mouse, and pull to the desired length. Holding the shift key allows the line to be kept in a straight line if moved to an angle, it will be a straight line in a 45-degree angle.
The anchor tool can help change a straight line to a curved line. With the anchor tool, we can choose the line we would like to change and then we could choose a point and adjust the line to create a curve.
No dragging. Just click hold shift and click where you want line to go.
1.To create straight lines that go from one point to another in Adobe Illustrator, the Pen Tool is the ideal choice. When you select the Pen Tool and click on the canvas, an anchor point is created. After placing the first anchor point, click another point again without dragging and Illustrator will automatically connect the two points with a straight line. This method allows you to place precise points and create straight lines between them, making it perfect for creating geometric shapes or controlled linear designs.
2.The Convert Anchor Point tool allows you to change a straight line anchor point into a BĂ©zier curve. This tool is essential for converting rigid geometric lines into smooth, flowing curves. To use it, first select the path or anchor point you want to modify and then click and drag the selected anchor point with the Convert Anchor Point tool. As you do so, Illustrator generates direction handles from the anchor point.

What tool in Illustrator can change a straight line anchor point to a Bezier curve?
In Adobe Illustrator, you can change a straight line anchor point into a bezier curve using the Anchor Point Tool (under the Pen Tool or by pressing Shift + C). This tool allows you to click on a corner or straight anchor point and drag out handles to convert it into a smooth, curved anchor point. Once youâve created these handles, the curve will be formed, and you can manipulate it further by adjusting the handlesâ direction and length
Yes you don’t only need to make a line horizontal, you can make the line 45 degrees or vertical as said here. There are key board short cuts like like “P” and shift and all for the pen tool, you use the “+” and “-” sign to delete and add anchor points
To make lines that go straight from one point to another, I would first select the pen tool. This can be done either by clicking it on the side with the mouse, or pressing ‘P’ on the keyboard. Then, I would click at the first point I would like the line to be. Once the first point is placed, I would move the mouse to the next point I want the line to be and click again.
