LL2- Compostion

I like this photo that our group took a lot because I think of all the pictures we have taken, this photo captures a lot of tension. Even though the bottom of the chair is all black, you can see that chair handle is the main focal point. The little bit of light that shines on the chair handle makes it look like the handle is emerging from somewhere dark. This is even more emphasized since the chair handle is coming out from the top of the picture and you cannot see where exactly it is coming from. I also like the use of negative space that is created from the chair being all black and the carpet being a monotoned grayish brown. The blur on the background makes it seem like the colors that are the are similar blend nicely and makes the black and the gray noticeable. And lastly this composition uses the rule of thirds since the handle is located at the top right of the photo giving the overall picture a nice finishing touch.

Nicely stated. I agree that there is a sense of tension as if the handle is about to be pressed. Our attention is so clearly directed to it, we as viewers know it must be important.
