“Use what the world gives you and make something out of yourself.”
When my mother told me this, It changed my perspective on the purpose of life and the goals I need to set for myself. I was in High School doubting myself and thinking that nothing matters in the long run. But the day I had that talk with my mom, my whole perspective changed. We lead our own lives and we do within it the things we love to do. If we do things we love to do and make it a career we can do amazing things. I told myself that and actually pushed myself to continue with school and really involved myself in design and technology. Because of those words I’ve been able to actually make progress in my future.
These words have brought me far in my life and now is the time to prove to myself and to others that I can do it. Ive gotten out of my shell and put myself in uncomfortable positions to create a comfortable path. I think everyone should use the skills they have and utilize every single one they have to make themselves the best person they can be in college. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to reach the top.
You write: . I was in High School doubting myself . . . [what was the problem, the situation that caused your doubts? need concrete specific details / set the scene / remember the directions say to create a scene. Where were you? What was the situation when your mom said this to you?]
You: my whole perspective changed. We lead our own lives and we do within it the things we love to do. If we do things we love to do and make it a career we can do amazing things.
[Instead of philosophizing, instead of summarizing, show me concrete specific details, describe the change in you, what amazing things were you wanting to do. What dilemma were you in at the time? How did you apply these words to what was happening to you?]
You: . Ive gotten out of my shell and put myself in uncomfortable positions to create a comfortable path [what shell? What uncomfortable positions?]
Don’t summarize, instead SHOW me this moment when your mother said this to you. Create Theatre of the MInd. Remember MX’s scene with the night guards. Create the scene when your mom said this to you!
