Santiago explains feeling like an “outcast” because she did not speak English well enough to enter the standard 8th grade class when she entered American schools.  What does “outcast” mean in this context?  How does she save herself?  How does her status change by the end of the essay?  If you have had a similar experience, explain what that was.  READ CAREFULLY WHAT I ASKED HERE.  BE SURE TO ANSWER THE QUESTIONS:  Many of you are not reading my question carefully and your posts don’t answer my question.
