Introduction

Hi! My name is Iren and currently, I’m a 18 year old freshman student at City Tech. I’m a tapestry woven from various experiences, dreams, and values. Born and raised in Albania, a country in the Balkans, I carry with me the essence of this place – its culture, values, and the lessons it has taught me. My journey began in Albania, a place that has imbued in me values like determination, patience, community spirit, and compassion. These values were further nurtured by my family who have always been a pillar of support and learning. I have a 6-year-old sister whose name is Evalinn, I love her so much, she’s my other half and keeps me going.

This picture shows my hometown “Vlora” the place I grew up in

In the realm of education, my interests have been diverse, ranging from literature, arts, music, and science. Since I was just a kid I have always been curious about the world around me and wanted to learn more about it that is why I decided to pursue something within the science field that included biology, as of now I’m undecided but heading towards rad tech. Beyond my academics, my interests include traveling (I have been to Turkey, Italy, Canada, and a few places in NY), playing volleyball, art, and trying new foods (my favorite food would be burek which is a traditional Albanian dish), reading books, and going on adventures. These activities not only provide me with enjoyment but also contribute to my personal growth. I am often described as kind, determined, empathetic, compassionate, and patient (although I can be quite stubborn). These traits have guided me in both my academic and personal life, helping me tackle challenges, build strong relationships, and maintain a balanced perspective.

This picture symbolizes my love for traveling

This is my favorite traditional Albanian dish called “burek”

  1. Nice intro. We learned a lot about you. Love the picture of the red travelling sky, but we can’t see the picture of Viora, the burek, or the Museum. I was just going to ask what this food is.

ALSO I notice that your email had the pictures fine. Not sure why they are not coming out here.

ALSO How did you get your city tech email fixed? You did it very quickly. Good for you!

  2. Hi Eren, I love that you carry your birthplace like a badge of honor and are true to your roots. I also cherish my family. If you want any recommendations on any lovely places to visit in NYC, I am quite the foodie and know quite a few spots.
