Have a research assignment for your course and want support from the library?
We are currently working to expand asynchronous instructional resources and also are piloting some new virtual instruction options including virtual office hours and virtual instruction sessions.
For more information about these and other options to support ENG1101, ENG1121, and COM1330 students, contact Anne Leonard, coordinator of Library Instruction. For discipline-specific options, contact the subject specialist for your department. We want to hear from you to make sure that you have the tools you need.
Access Library Resources from Home
Make sure your students aren’t missing out on all of the subscription resources the library has to offer. This 38 second video contains step-by-step instructions for connecting from off-campus:
For questions about remote access, consult our FAQs.
Access Materials Beyond our Collection
Interlibrary Loan continues to fill article and individual book chapter requests and deliver them electronically. Please consider ILL for your own research as well as for your students’ research and assignments.
Virtual Library Orientation
Want to introduce your students to library basics? Use our online Library Orientation website which is modular and has a built in quiz.
The Library is Already in Your Course
No matter what platform you’re using, library resources are available wherever you already are. Find subject specific research guides with databases, citation help, and more on the library website, Blackboard and OpenLab.
Using Blackboard?
Use the City Tech Library on your course menu link to access a research guide that covers research basics and includes citation resources, multi-disciplinary databases, and more.
Using OpenLab?
The Library Tools widget is available in new OpenLab courses by default. This widget allows students to search for library sources from within your course and has a direct link to our main website and 24X7 “Ask a Librarian” chat service.Don’t see the widgets you want in OpenLab or interested in adding subject specific resources to your course site? Learn more about custom integration options and write to Prof. Nora Almeida for assistance.
