The library offers a wide range of resources to support student learning. In recent years, student demand for required course materials (and for textbooks in particular) has been growing in a way that the library facilities and collections are not designed to support, so we’d like to remind all of our faculty users to take a look at our collection development and course reserve policies, particularly as they relate to library acquisitions of textbooks and required reading.
We understand that the high cost of many required materials has a large impact on our students. Library faculty are happy to work with classroom faculty to explore low-cost and open access options for course materials.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss alternatives to textbooks in your courses, please contact Professor Bronwen Densmore.
