As of January 2012, we have full access to Naxos Music Library. Our license only accommodates a maximum of 3 simultaneous users so please remember to log out when you’re finished using it!
Naxos Music Library provides streaming (non-downloadable) access to classical, jazz, world, folk, and Chinese music. The advanced search engine enables searching by genre, composer, lyricist, artists/performing groups, instruments, periods, countries, years of composition, and moods. Instructors may create playlists to supplement music courses with listening material.
It is accessible from the library’s list of databases but this is the direct link:
http://citytech.ezproxy.cuny.edu:2048/login?url=http://citytech.naxosmusiclibrary.com/
(As usual, you will need to log in with your City Tech barcode if you’re not on campus. If you’re not familiar with accessing databases from off campus, please see the Off-Campus Access instructions.)
Remember to log out at the end of your session to ensure that others will have access to the resource.
Faculty members who wish to create playlists for instructional use, please contact Prof. Allie Verbovetskaya at averbovetskaya@citytech.cuny.edu.
