The library will be closed Monday, June 20th in observance of Juneteenth. June 19 commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. According to the Gilder Lerhman Institute of American History, it marks when Major General Gordon Granger announced that the Civil War was over on June 19th, 1865. It was recognized as a federal holiday in 2021.
Although the physical library will be closed, there are other Juneteenth resources that students and faculty can access in the catalog.
