Our goal is to make the OpenLab accessible for all users.

Typeface is to font like what a chair is to a dining table.
Font is to typeface like what a chair is to a dining table.*
Yup, second rendition is better!
Also a fun pun: the typeface family being the individual fonts is like the chairs at a table that hold family members.
Typeface can be seen as the dish and font as the recipe.
Well, in the Font Book context perhaps yes. Because recipe implies that you MUST HAVE EACH INGREDIENT.
In reality, you don’t need to download each and every variation of the typeface. For example, when we downloaded fonts from the free websites, to save time, I only downloaded the font I wanted out of maybe 10 options for that particular typeface. I only wanted the condensed italic version.
Perhaps a revision to this analogy: Typeface is like a dish (pasta with marinara) and Font is the choice of pasta you wish to have (spaghetti, angel hair, bowtie, risotto, fettuccini). Speaking of pasta: https://youtu.be/DIdUsTpTCFs
font is the size and weight of the letters written and the typeface is the style of lettering itself (example: typeface: Helvetica, font: 12 point, 24 point etc.)
Yup, now I get it!
