- Here’s what to do if you miss the final exam on 5/23:
- If you are currently failing the course (average below 60), and you attended class on 5/18, you will receive a 0 and your course grade will be an F.
- If you are currently failing the course (average below 60), and you DID NOT attend class on 5/18 , you will receive a 0 and your course grade will be an WU.
- If you are currently passing the course (average above 60), and you attended class on 5/18 , you will receive an INC grade and are eligible for a makeup exam.
- You must have a valid reason for missing the final exam. Examples are: jury duty, death in the family, or illness. Traveling is NOT an excuse.
- Documentation must be provided. Illness must be reported to John Currie at the Student Accessibility office in L-237. His email is john.currie37@citytech.cuny.edu.
Here are come clarifications to what I mentioned in class about absences.
- The last day to officially withdraw from the class is Tuesday, May 16. After this date, you will not be able to withdraw and get a “W” grade. Keep in mind that withdrawing may have ramifications on financial aid, among others. Please consult with a college administrator about your individual situation.
- Failure to attend class after May 16 will result in a grade of WU. This is a very bad result that has ramifications other than simply getting an F. The only way to avoid a WU grade is to attend class on 5/18, 5/22, or 5/23.
- The final exam is on Tuesday, May 23. Look here for instructions if you are absent.
