I finally found myself an internship! After applied to dozens of internships, updated my résumé and portfolio, and with the help of Professor Goetz, I interned with New York Public Interest Research Group or better known as NYPIRG. NYPIRG is a nonprofit research and public education organization that works with various CUNY and SUNY schools. I worked for NYPIRG for 5 months. NYPIRG at CityTech focused on issues as voting rights, climate change, public health, higher education, mass transit in NYC, and government accountability.
NYPIRG has a small office on campus and on the average about 6 including the project coordinator, David worked for them. All of the members were students, so many of them were dedicated to NYPIRG. Everything is ran by the students, the clothing drive, donations, and events. Their clients were mainly other students and the main focus was to educate and to get the students involved in activism.
