Improvement Activities

I am involved in a number of initiatives across campus to both help me improve my teaching but also to help other faculty, often at the same time. My role as co-director of the Living Lab Gen Ed Seminar demands I am constantly reviewing and reconsidering best practices and  techniques for student success. Developing and facilitating workshops with the Faculty Commons allows creative development of innovative approaches to teaching. The Bridging the Gap seminar is particularly powerful, both as a participant and as a facilitator. The READ program has brought so much scholarship and improvement techniques to my attention and offered me encouragement to engage with reading in my classroom at a much higher level. All of these drive my development of curriculum, my sharing and training through course coordination, and my dedication to continuing to build the General Education culture at City Tech.
