Journal entry 1: Who i am, why i’m taking this class and what 3d enviroment is my favorite.

I am Daniel Plas Rivera, i currently run a run my own web development firm. Life’s hard on me. Every second my brain is being pushed to the multitasking limit since my clients are very vague and there’s a lot of thought that goes into figuring them out to deliver the product they need. it clashes with school majority of the time and I’m in the battle of making sure i do good in both in the best way possible!

I’m taking this class because I’m interested in 3d programming, in my younger years i always wanted to make a 3d fighting game. At the moment now, i want to develop 3d applications for Android using blender. i feel that there’s an advancement in technology so we aren’t home anymore and cell phone program development is so under developed compared to the home computer and i want to change that by learning this and being able to bring something to the plate to these users who tend not to be in front of a computer but a phone or mobile device.

My favorite 3d environment is Maya and 3d Studio max. I started off with Maya back in the year 2002, i followed tutorials and made great things from them which is the same with 3d studio max since it was a competitor to Maya. I loved 3d studio max but after time 3d studio max kept crashing more than Maya would so i stood with Maya. After that i took MAYA and got used to it and felt it was better for the fact that i learned it more than 3dsmax. I would choose MAYA as a cool 3d environment since i developed many things in it. i think it’s awesome. But on the down side MAYA crashes like that is it’s job. but there’s nothing else available like it so i gotta love it with its flaws .

Your own firm? impressive. Awesome that you already learnt Maya and some 3ds Max. I wonder….are they that different from Blender? or you just haven’t touched blender at all?
