Crash Course Videos 1 and 2

The first two electronic computing videos explained the basis behind the need for computers and the physical advancements in computer hardware. They covered early applications of computers, notable computers in history and the development of different types of switches over time. I appreciate the incremental developments of computers and appreciate both the complexity and creativity used when enhancing computer capabilities. I appreciate how computer development parallels population growth and globalization, as this technology is essential in daily life. I am amazed by the power and size of modern computers and also the reach of computers in less traditional areas such as manufacturing and agriculture. It is easy to take access to information for granted, and this video was a reminder about how far we’ve come in making life more convenient.
