There is are many resources on color we have been covering in the last few weeks on color to review and read. They include the following :
- Read Chapter 5 Color Theory and Basic Shapes
- Read the freely available Look Inside pages of Josef Alber’s classic book, The Interaction of Color.
• Read the Look Inside pages of Karissa St Clair’s book The Secret Lives of Color
• Read this article on Color Space within Adobe Photoshop
• Review the Color Science Chapter from the Open Textbook Graphic Design and Print Production Fundamentals discussed during class
- Review the Vistaprint Video on CYMK Vs. RGB
• Color Science Videos by Pixar— This is a series of videos on color done by Pixar, the well-known animation studio. Please watch these over the next two weeks and to the practice exercises.

Today, we reviewed the UCONN Brand Site and the Printing Basics booklet as well at: PrintingBasics_Final_082715 (1) If you were not in class during our discussion of the Color Bridge, be sure to watch the Videos from Youtube below so you can understand how the Color Bridge is used and the importance of it as a tool in our industry. The first video is an official Pantone Video and the Second is an “Unboxing” Video from two designers explaining the books and how they plan on using it. This second video has excellent content and emphasizes why they made the investment is a tool that allows a designer to specify color numbers over one’s eyes for consistent color. One thing you must understand is that the PMS (Pantone Matching System) is a color standard used in Fashion, Paint, Printing and any industry involved with color. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtucdAgYYww
