Most of the column labels should be self explanatory: P2 is the graph post and C is the commentary on someone else’s graph post.
I have created a file with the midterm grade (in 2 formats, MS Excel and PDF) :
ros1190_midterm ros1190_midterm
I am following the syllabus as closely as possible. To come up with the the midterm grade, I have used your
- quiz average (will count 10% at end of semester, since we have completed 60% of the semester, it is weighted .6*.1=.06)
- exam 1 (20% overall), so gets weight .2
- class participation (25% overall, you have done 3 out of the 5 anticipated assignments, so gets weight .25 * .6=.15)
In practical terms, this means I take (.06*Q+.2*E1+.15*CP)/.41
The CP grade is based on P1 (your first post), D1 (your first exam discussion), P2 (your second post). Each was graded based on a total of 5 points.
There are 2 calculations based on whether you get credit for the corrections of exam 1 or not. For the no corrections, it is I have indicated. For the corrections, I took what you missed, divided by 2, multiplied by .2 and divided by .41 and then added this to your no corrections midterm average: Missed/2*.2/.41+ no corrections average=Missed/4.1+ no corrections average
For the MT grades, I went by a very crude
- If ave <40, then U
- If 40<ave< 60, then BL
- If ave > 60, then P
