This is an example of a post. As stated on the syllabus, you are expected to make a post by W 2/11 explaining how mathematics relates to your career (include photo of yourself with some aspect of mathematics and/or your career in the background).
A few years ago, as part of an organization called Math for America, I helped created a monster 4-dimensional polytope projected into 3 dimensions:
You can find more pictures and an article explaining who was involved and what we were doing: http://georgehart.com/central-park/index.html
Polytopes have a long history, going back at least to the Greeks who discovered the 5 regular 3-dimensional polyhedron: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platonic_solid
Towards the end of the semester, we will have time to explore some of these geometric figures.
