I really like this photograph. The photograph is Titled “Germany Weather” which shows an image of a park path surrounded by these huge beautiful trees in the middle of what looks like to by rainy & misty weather. the depth of field is outstanding showing a large position of the path through a darken vantage point providing an excellent contrast of light and dark. The trees provided beautiful framing around the image as well.

Image Description

Germany Light Art

This image shows contrast of light and dark. You can see the depth of field as you look from the bottom left of the image to the top right that it gradually gets smaller. There are also two different kind of patterns in horizontal lines.

HW1-Photo Description

Look for a photograph that really speaks to you and that you think is visually engaging by one of the photographers listed below. Once you have selected a photograph, write a 300 word post describing the photograph.

1. Identify the photograph with the name of the photographer and the name of the photograph. Write a short description of the subject matter. Then, identify the mood or feeling of the photograph. Please include a link to the photograph so I can easily find it.

2. Write a second paragraph describing the photographer’s use of line, framing, pattern, depth of field or focus, contrast of light and dark, and vantage point or angle of view in the photograph. How do these elements help create the mood or feeling of the photograph?

Minimum 300 words.

LL5-Lighting for Mood

In  new post, please answer the following questions:

1. When and why would you as an art director or a photographer chose traditional portrait lighting with a main light, fill and background light for a portrait?

2. When and why would you as an art director or a photographer chose side light for a portrait? Are there any disadvantages to side light?

3. When and why would you as an art director or a photographer chose front light for a portrait? Are there any disadvantages to front light?

4. When and why would you as an art director or a photographer decide to use wide-angle distortion in a portrait?
