More and more people are traveling and booking hotels online has become a common thing for people. But beware, there are some people that have been in the hospitality business for over 20 years that have been scammed as well. Fake websites are becoming very similar to actual website that people are not aware and at the end, they get charged large fees for no reason. Protecting your information is very important and always research!
This is quite unsettling. I suppose people who get caught in these scams are generally people who are less internet-savvy … but it creeps me to know that there’s that possibility for anyone whenever releasing any kind of sensitive information on the internet.
Interesting read.
I was reading something similar like this article not too long ago myself. It is very creepy. How these scammers are able to duplicate websites are astounding. You can come across these sites by mistakenly typing in one wrong letter in the address bar especially if the website has a long name. I have bookmarked my most frequently used sites so I do not make careless mistakes for these scammers. Good choice of article.
