I thought a speech was best fit for me to address my discourse community. In this speech I touched on mental health well specifically men’s mental health. This speech was not only to make other discourse communities aware but just people in general. This speech was very important and somewhat personal and I felt that the best way to convey my emotion was to format my essay this way so people and other communities could see where I was coming from while writing it. Mental as a whole is a very prominent situation so this speech doesn’t t don’t play women at all but it does touch on a problem that I feel isn’t spoken about enough. With that being said I just don’t think a traditional essay and a letter would’ve helped me convey my thoughts thoroughly. I would have to say I took after Douglass when writing my speech his conviction gave me a good template on hoe to write my essay.
