Discourse communities

The discourse community I’m going to talk about is track and field. A problem within the community, I’m going to talk about is different teams having conflict, arguing and even fighting  with each other which can lead to an even worse situation. A person that would talk about these types of things would be coaches, and possibly teammates. With a coach, I’m pretty sure the strategies they would do if they seem like something is just giving them advice and motivation to try to keep their athletes more focused on their game. With a teammate, the advice they’ll give would be the same but in a different way.

The reason why I’m telling the audience this problem is because of how often I see these situations in track and field. Imagine seeing those types of situations, while being at a track meet, especially if one of your teammates are involved in those conflicts. It’s very tiring and annoying, not only can this affect a team’s environment, but it can disqualify them or the whole team from coming again, if it’s serious . It affects the entire team as well. This shows that this problem is pretty major in the discourse community.

This sounds good. As you write, you might want to articulate more specifically what this conflict is and how it occurs. This will help you better address the effects of the conflict.
