The discourse community I decided to talk about is the online gaming community. I feel like online gamers have taken much of the blame for today’s problem. Any sort of violent attack that happens in the U.S, the first thing that the news tries to do is spin the reality of Video games/ Gamers are the people to blame. Just because they are such an easy target to blame without any facts about the situation. There are so many negative points of view about this discourse community and I’m here to just clear the air about how we are not the reason to blame and how our community should be given more respect to us. As a person that belongs to this community, how do you think it feels when you turn on the news and the first thing they do is blame the new call of duty that is out and completely rule out all facts of the situation. It’s not right and some things need to change.
