My topic of focus is about political parties specifically why we should limit their power of the two main political parties.
Political parties formed when individuals with different views on how to run the government, the economy and foreign policies. This allowed people with similar ideas about government to come together and gain power in the government by electing political figures to run the state and government for the good of the country and the good of the people. Over the years two parties have grown to power and maintain their power for about 200 years, the democratic and republicans parties. But ironically as their power grew they became more power hungry and more corrupt. An example of this is the fact that they are largely against other political parties from gaining recognition and attention. The state legislatures who are either democratic and republican are making very difficult for smaller political parties to even put in a candidate.
My side is that the two party systems power should be limited. This would allow smaller political parties to grow and gain more recognition and attention. This would give way more and better modern ideas on whats good for the country and the people and would allow the government to be more open to change and flexibility. In the united states history both democrats and republicans were open liberally and conservatively, only in the the recent decades the parties has become more extreme and actively against the opposition. With their limit of power I hoped the parties wound detoxify and go back to the great and respected parties they once were.
What are some of the other parties besides the main 2.
What would be the best way to limit the power of the two main parties?
How would regular people benefit from a more open political party system?
Nigel, This seems good. You have a clear focus and opinion. Are there conversations about how to limit the two main political parties? And will you argue for one of these ideas?
