As the semester comes to a close i am here thinking how have i changed and what are my takeaways of this class. For starters, in the way I think and formulate ideas. But I also learned that I am a very procrastinating person and a forgetful one too in all honesty. Iāve found the things I like and donāt like to do and actually found something Iām passionate about. Which begs the question as to why Iām even here in the first place. Iāve definitely changed and I canāt say itās for the better or for worse because truly Iāve never been much of a reader or a writer. Whatever naturally comes to me is what youāll get out of me. But I will say Iāve grown to actually respect writing and appreciate the previous assignments I had back in junior or senior year of High School. From what I learned in this class is that theyāre are other forms to communicate and express yourself and other forms to actually learn something that isn’t the standard educational based material. For Unit 1 the most important part was with the actual examples used like the song I used titled: āLife of the partyā, where I said ā The ideas being presented are ones of difficulty and hardship in a young person’s life. The struggles of family and how relationships are built upon. The irony in life that is presented and how this can connect with alot of broken families. This struck home given I can relate to the lyrics because I come from a home where I had to go place to place to visit both my parents.ā which was the main takeaway for the whole piece and letting me finally have a new form to learn and express myself. With the second Unit piece that helped me connect more to my profession and what I am studying to be and that’s an Architect and finding new ways to help my community with my own profession and that was the crisis at hand going on in New York with how we are handling the state of overpopulation. And finally the Last Unit focused on getting that message across to new audiences and finding a way to do so was a podcast style written piece that could stretch the reach and increase the audience to be engaging in a media that they are familiar with. Overall Iāve learned many new ways that arenāt traditional like the Podcast style of writing which had me wondering and figuring out how to make it also sound human but not informative like as if a robot would be speaking. These new skills now can help me span into many other forms of media because for me right now in life I don’t know if college is the way for me. I’m just a person who seeks creativity and I know I won’t find it here. Success is everywhere and this made me realize that passion is key to success else youāll be stuck in the same cycle as Iām feeding into it right now. Difference is this semester has actually helped me find my passion which is the complete opposite of what Iām supposed to be doing and Iām glad I found out sooner than later. Who knows maybe one day Iāll start a podcast and come back to this assignment for help.Ā
