Final Research Paper Due 12/11/2020

Reflection Paper Assignment- Due Dec. 14, 2020

A reflection paper is not a summary of all of the course readings this semester.  Rather, you are recognizing course themes (unifying ideas) and combining these ideas with your remote learning class experience, and how these things affect your thinking or your experiences.  In other words, your focus is on what you learned and connected to during this course that was different than what you may or may not have known before taking the class.  This written expression of careful consideration and pondering on how your experiences in what you have or have not learned is known as a reflection paper.  In your paper, you can add your thoughts, analyze (not summarize) what you have read, illustrate your ideas and how what you have learned affects your identity, job, role as a student, and add why these things stand out to you.

  • Recall- take your time to recall some of the readings and class experiences that stand out to you.  Consider what about the experience or reading stands out?  Consider why they stand out?
  • Consider- a list of student reflection questions (See below) to assist with how to think about your experience
  • Voice- you will be writing in first person for this assignment; therefore, you will need to relate the readings and class discussions to your prior knowledge and experiences.
  • Connection- examine if and how what you have read and learned this semester impacts your thinking, personal, academic and professional situations.
  • Reflect- make sure that you are including all of the relevant information from your notes, readings, discussions, memory, class experience.

Reflection paper guidelines
