You will become an expert on one of the tools in the shop, and teach the rest of the class about that tool. You will teach about the tool’s uses, safety features, accessories, how to choose a tool, and who are the major manufacturers of that type of tool. You and your classmates will use the information you provide later in the semester.
The Details
You need to research a tool and make a 15 minute presentation to the class. You will teach the class how to use the tool safely. You will also prepare a spreadsheet that lists tools from different manufacturers and compares their relevant features (see sample handout on table saws).

- Horsepower/Amperage
- RPM
- Maximum workpiece capacity
- Other information as necessary to describe your tool
Grading Criteria
You will be graded on the thoroughness of your research and the quality of your presentation. Accuracy is important, as is clear communication.
