Practice Proposal and Annotated Bibliography

As I said in class, proposals are like pitches for products that need funding. On a later date, you will have to create a proposal for your own Unit 3 projects based on your chosen topics/audience/genre. However, now, please use either the Timmerman or Perez pieces to shape how you will address another source for a hypothetical research project.

First, pick any type of source that may work with either piece. It can be a Youtube video, song from Spotify, or NY Times article.

Second, write an annotate bibliography about said source. You can find how to do the annotated bibliography again in the Paper Resource section.

Third, write a proposal about the topic of your choosing shaped by your research. If you need to review how to do this, please find the proposal information with the Paper Resource section of our Openlab. Remember, you won’t have to write anything as robust as they have as their example and you will only have to write for 1-3.

Discourse Community Source Analysis

For this post, please list one of your sources you will use for your discourse communities second mini paper and then write a brief paragraph that discusses aspects of the source.

This will be useful for documenting your research in a specific area, exploring different viewpoints, and summarizing main points from your source.

Also, analyzing your source before you use it will either cement the usage of it or could possibly make you rethink using it.

Please make sure to give the MLA citation for the source you are using from the library database. Then, write a brief description of the source under that.

The description can

•describe the content of the source
• describe the usefulness of the source
• describe the intended audience
• evaluate the credibility of the source
