For this photograph we used the back light to create it. We followed the rules of the third to placed the subject matter. I like how the solid background expresses the figure to ground view and the contrast between the bright yellow sunflower and the black background is dramatic. And the close-up framing technique really shows the bright part of the subject matter’s details.
This is not back light but side light. The light is at 90 degrees to the camera. the contrast is lovely.
