In my opinion a great photograph contains patterns, symmetrical objects, and solid backgrounds. I believe a neutral background can interpret emotions because it shows people’s behavior in their own natural environment. Therefore, the movement and the iconic moments focus to tell part of the story behind the photo.

Certainly a neutral background helps the viewer focus on the main subject. Creating a visual hierarchy out of what is generally a very chaotic world does make a photo stand out.
