“A talk to teachers”

I think James Baldwin was saying in this paragraph was how he would teach a student more about the broader scope of the world. Baldwin wants to show his students that facing the world and seeing it in its true form, which is that of being glorious and horrific the student would be able to make it his own and from that be able to make a decision for his own and to make better decisions by understanding the world in its true nature. When Baldwin said “the world is larger” He refers to it in comparison to the large American history and how students are taught about it in school on how great and horrific the history was he by then comparing them demonstrates that students are only taught American history and the history is large but imagine the history of the world which is far greater and far more stunning with the goodness it has while it also being the most horrific thing with so much corruption. So “the world is larger“ he wants to show students that understand how big the world is and how more things are happening that they should be taught and this to basically open their eyes to world in a broader sense and not let any corrupt system tell them what to follow or how to look at things but they the students themselves are able to see the truth and examine the world theirselves. The “necessity” We the students have a right to examine is the corrupt system and awful things that have happened in American and world History that are basically hidden. Only covering these things would only blind us from the truth and not help any of us but those who want to hide the truth. I have no knowledge of these specific things I want to learn About but I really want know about the truth of history the corruption that has been hidden from us to only see things as good. To know and understand  these things would like Baldwin said help us see the truth of the world how it’s a beautiful but cruel place and help us look at our lives and society different and hopefully wanting us to only make a peaceful and accepting society and make personally better lives for ourselves by trying to understand the wrongs that happened and not repeat them.
