KNOW: Soccer is one of the most played sports in the world. soccer is a sport that is played with feet only. No player can touch the ball with their hands unless that player is the goalie. I f any player other than the goalie touches the ball with their hands it is a free kick for the other team. if one team pushes or shoves or fouls the other team, the team that fouled gets a yellow card or a red card depending on how bad the foul is.

WANT TO KNOW : Why could they mot use their hands?  Why do they have to use their feet?

LEARNED :  I learned that soccer originated in England in the 1800’s.  Records trace the history of soccer back more than 2,000 years ago to ancient China. Greece, Rome, and parts of Central America also claim to have started the sport; but it was England that transitioned soccer, or what the British and many other people around the world call “football,” into the game we know today.

i chose this quote because I relate to it so much. I do not like to read and write or do anything that has to do with reading or writing and i also never understood why i need to learn how to read and write until my mom told me i need it in everyday life, i always thought it was a joke but i get why she told me that all those times.

2). I use words to describe my feelings, to tell people about how much they mean to me, and to spread positivity to everyone around me. Then we all use words day to day in school as well, to write essays and our own stories

i chose this one because i use the same words from day to day and my mom has told me i write the same way i talk but i dont really listen to her because i used to think i speak differently from the way i write but as always kids are never correct.

3)carefully consider the choices the author made and the techniques that he or she used, and then decide whether you want to make those same choices or use those same techniques in your own writing

i had to chose this quote because  in school i used to write short stories as assignments and my teachers would tell me to pay close attention to the author’s diction which is the way they write and i had to be careful with my diction so i dont confuse the reader.

4) We’re all authors because there really is no right definition of an author. An author can be 10 years old or 60 years old, tall or short, smart or average.

lastly i chose this quote because i really do think that everyone is a type of author no matter their background, height,age and other things that make the person them. authors can be from many different ages and write about many different topics
